The Social Security Administration now recognizes Sjogren's and it took me 6 months from the time I applied to the time I was approved for full disability. You have to be on disability for a full year before you qualify for Medicare. Although it turned out that I didn't need an attorney for the application process, using an attorney with disability application experience will shorten the length of time it will take to get your case approved. My case never went to court, it was just approved outright. Be explicit in all of your answers. Don't be afraid to include additional comments on an attachment. My description of a typical 24 hour day was 14 pages, single spaced. My stress level decreased appreciatively after I was approved.. good luck
