Shade, Balloons, and Rest

Well, guys. It was a great weekend but I'm still in recovery mode, so there won't be much scientific information to be found in today's post. Just a few pictures. First, check out this very very excellent sun shelter that my son and daughter in law gave me:

I used it over the weekend during an outdoor BBQ, and I have to say I was impressed. I was able to set this thing up all by myself; actually it was scarily easy. I just pulled the cord that was marked "pull here" and the thing flew open and plopped down on the ground. Just like that! Provided great shade for the afternoon's festivities.

See anything especially adorable in that picture, hmm? Need a closer look?

Terese's daughter gave me the amazing heart-melting little Corgi dog balloon. He was weighted just perfectly so that he hopped along on the ground beside me as I walked with him. She knew that we had owned a Corgi named Toffee for fourteen years, (more accurately Toffee owned US) and now my son also has a Corgi. So she saw this guy in a flower shop and brought him to me! I'm such a lucky duck.

Lulu didn't know what all the fuss was about. It wasn't a Schnauzer doggie balloon, after all.
